Basic Template for Army Infantry

by Andrew Priestley (andrewp@ziplink.net)

Basic template for Army Infantry, TL7, Fresh from Infantry One Station Unit Training (OSUT)

This is based on my Basic Training, Infantry OSUT (One Station Unit Training) experience and is based on points spent in training rather than on mandating a specific skill level. These templates are also based on a raw recruit fresh out of training rather than on a veteran with more than one enlistment under his belt. It does not reflect actual attribute levels, nor is it intended to reflect all of an individual recruit's skills, advantages, disadvantages, etc. More experienced soldiers will tend to have additional schools under their belts which will change the templates dramatically.

I would also give soldiers about 1 point per month of peacetime operational experience to put towards building military skills. I would double this during wartime or during combat operations and give any soldier who has survived 6 months to a year in combat, Combat Reflexes.

Expert Infantry Badge: This is a very difficult badge to win and often carries more cachet than the Combat Infantry Badge. In game terms I would require the character to have at least skill level 13 in all skills marked win an asterisk (*) and at least a 12 in everything else, with some skills over that. This is not something a newbie can win unless they are very smart and very talented physically. They will also have the Skill: Forward Observer at about 0.5 pts.
